Wear It Festival 2017, Turning Berlin Into Wearable City?

Talking wearables, fashion tech, smart clothing and consumer innovation, the countdown to Wear It Festival 2017 begins.

From Thursday 8th June to Friday 9th June, there will not only be a gathering of the most innovative startups from the maker scene, but the two day event will also be turning the cool, edgy Berlin into a wearable city that draws like minded people to connect.

Wear It 2017

Founded by Thomas Gnahm, it all began when a crowd of makers and designers decided to create something new. It was this drive that soon led to Gnahm starting a new trend in 2014 with Wear It Festival. Besides the Wear It Festival, Gnahm also organizes Fashion Hack Day. With the objective to establish groundbreaking concepts and prototypes, the hackathon mainly appeals to the avant-garde of the design and technology industry.

If you plan to attend, you should be aware that the two day event is separated into Experience Day and Focus Day. Experience Day takes place on the first day. It dives into the startup scene, and also looks at artistic exploration and the experimental side of wearable tech. Besides talks and workshops there will also be expert roundtable sessions. The day will be rounded up with a Wear It Hub networking event.

Day two is Focus Day. This is a day that is all about pushing the limits of wearable technology, fashion technology and smart textiles. With the objective to tackle existing problems and learn from successful companies, they will focus on collaborations in cross industrial sectors.

This year, WEAR IT FESTIVAL 2017 ambassadors include pioneers like KRISTIN NEIDLINGER, Futures and Biomedia Designer at Sensoree and MARINA TOETERS, Design & Research in Fashion Technology.
