The darling of this season’s London Collections Men is Craig Green. Winner of the British Fashion Awards for emerging Menswear talent, Green works out of his east London studio. Unremarkable but functional, his moodboard free studio is were the designer and his team can be found creating and designing.
The north London designer has been compared to the likes of Rei Kawakubo of Comme Des Garçons and Vivienne Westwood. He graduated from University in 2012 after seven years of study. The jolt of ‘Green Mania’ begun with his first runway, AW13, which featured models wearing plywood sculptures on their faces. Critical acclaim then followed his subsequent tie-dye and hand-painted collections, which has since ensured that Mr Green has a captive audience for whatever he would do next.
Captive we still remain, we decided to style Green’s shape shifting collection with CES 2016’s own darling, the SmartShoe 01. Presented at this year’s tech event in Las Vegas, the SmartShoe 01 can be controlled using your smart phone. Other feature’s include warming your feet, tracking your day, checking calories burnt, automatic tightening and shock absorption measurement. Developed and designed by Digitsole, we styled it with Craig Green’s wide leg jeans and Craig Green’s collar and waist tie short sleeved shirt.
True, this is a style that might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but if worn by a person with distinct taste and a love for wide legged jeans, then we know that it could definitely get some of those shutter bugs at LCM all in a tizzy! You can shop Craig Green at MatchesFashion.com. Learn more about SmartShoe 01 HERE.
