Have you heard of Opter? It is a smart necklace that looks non-descript but packs quite a technological punch. The people behind the device are Chalisa Prarasri who has a B.S. in Neuroscience from UCLA, Cutter Coryell who has a B.S. in Physics from Caltech, David Fowler the Senior Design and Operations Executive, Mike Coryell who has a B.S. in Physics from UCSD and Mark Wiprud has an M.S. and a B.S., both in Engineering, from Harvey Mudd.
Pose, Not Just A Tech Company, A Lifestyle
Committed to setting an example, Opter is all about mindfulness, privacy and transparency. My favourite features include how the device can sense sunlight and it will tell you if you’ve been exposed too long and also how it can give you personalized tips on getting quality rest, like recommended sleep times and bright light warnings at night. Besides that, Opter will also keep you moving and help you stand straighter over time.
“The Pose was carefully designed to fit seamlessly into your lifestyle. Wear it as a necklace or a clip for versatility. Take it out in the rain: it’s water resistant. Go from work to play by switching the chain to match your needs. Travel with it; it has more than a week of battery life. Take wellness everywhere you go”, shared someone from the Opter team.
The device is made sustainably from all-natural bamboo and us designed to monitor your daily moderate and vigorous exercise in addition to steps and calories, On this they add, “Steps and heart rate are great, but health is more complicated that. Health takes pretty much everything about your life into account. Mental health, sedentary time, and even room light play huge roles in your overall wellbeing. That’s why we made Opter. Nothing out there was good enough, and we wanted more. Pose is our first step to capturing more of your life than ever before. Wait until you see what we have planned next.”
