Everpurse are handbags that have been designed to successfully integrate technology and fashion. We think their smart bags make the perfect side kick for the woman on the go. They will keep you powered from morning to well past party time. A great example of beautiful science, Everpurse brags technology that is light, powerful and virtually invisible. So lets take a moment to get to know the bag lady for who technology design will never take a back seat.
Tell us a little bit about your brand?
Everpurse is fashion tech for women on the go. We know you don’t have time to stay plugged to an outlet, so we’ve integrated our charging technology into your favorite handbag – no wires, buttons or cables. Just slide your phone into the smartpocket and stay charged all day long!
We’re passionate about empowering women, which is why we’re focused on making incredible products that fit your lifestyle and make your favorite accessories even more powerful.
What do you wish you knew before you started your business?
“You can’t do it all on your own. Learn the basics, but then outsource whatever is not key to the growth of your business”.
Are there any plans of collaborating with other brands?
We believe every purse should be an Everpurse, and we have relationships with some incredible brands, but for now, you’ll just have to wait and see..!
What wearable, fashion or lifestyle, is on your must have wish list and why?
Wise Wear designed by Iris Apfel. I love that Wise Wear has made an activity tracker that is a beautiful bracelet you want to wear. Iris is such an icon, I can’t wait to see what she designs for them!
What brand would you most like collaborate with?
kate spade new york! They have always been one of my favorite brands. They’re a perfect fit for Everpurse because they design with the tech saavy, colorful, fun girl in mind.
What one word would you say defines you?
How do you find inspiration?
Everywhere! Travelling is probably my best source of inspiration. Seeing new things, tasting new foods, learning about history and culture, all of these help me to reflect on who I am and what I am building. I find that some of my best ideas have come from long conversations over a glass of wine at the end of the day.
I am my own Everpurse customer, so I also find a lot of inspiration trying out new products and learning from what I find useful or difficult about the product. This helps me to think about ways to improve or enhance our own product.
What was the best piece of advice you ever got? The worst?
I travel a lot, so the best piece of advice I got was about staying grounded and feeling supported by those who know me best. One of my advisors told me to figure out where “home” is and spend at least 40% of my time there. As it turns out, this is hard advice to follow!
I guess I would have to say the worst piece of advice was “make a cheaper product”. The lesson I learned was that it’s better to make a quality product at a good price that people will love for a long time, than cut costs in order make it cheaper and sell more.
What’s your favorite quote?
“There’s always money in the banana stand”.
What is your biggest pet peeve?
Luke warm coffee.
What do you think is the biggest innovation of your lifetime thus far?
“My biggest innovation has obviously been Everpurse”.
The biggest innovation by others, in my lifetime, is definitely the smartphone. It has totally transformed the way we live, work, and play. It’s now an extension of ourselves – leave your phone at home and most of us completely lost!
