Another day, another collab as Topshop X bPay collection is announced. The British high street fashion giant has partnered up with Barclaycard to develop a range of contactless accessories that bring fashion and technology to the high street.

The new collection includes everyday knick knacks like key chains,  wristbands, smartphones and stickers incorporated with bPay contactless technology. With a broad range of customers to appease, the 6 piece range seems to have been designed to appeal more to teens and young adults rather than to a stylish cosmopolitan women on the go.

Fashionably functional, the wearable accessories discreetly house a small chip that is linked to a secure digital wallet that is fraud protected. In order to use your accessory, the wallet needs to be credited up to £30 on a mobile app, an online bPay web portal or via an automatic top-up. Once funds are added shoppers, with a UK registered Visa or MasterCard, will be able to use their accessory to tap pay at over 300,000 locations across the UK.

On the collab, commercial director, digital consumer payments at Barclaycard Tami Hargreaves shared, “The collaboration shows how the worlds of fashion and technology can combine to create a stylish and easy new way for people to pay using contactless.”

Topshop is not the first fashion label to incorporate contactless pay in its collections. In September 2015, Scottish knitwear brand Lyle & Scott teamed up with Barclays bPay to design and create a £150 ‘contactless jacket. Making Topshop a second fashion/tech collab for Barclays bPay tech.

With prices still to be released, the collection, that comes in two designs, will be available as of the 17th November 2015 at Topshop stores and online at TOPSHOP.COM. If the current styles do not rock your look then we can reveal that a luxe metal and snake affect design will be available later on this year.
