Founded by Royal College of Art graduates, Ben Alun-Jones, Hal Watts and Kirsty Emery, Unmade, previously called Knyttan, built a name for itself by using coding to power knitting machines as though they are 3D printers. The objective was to make sure that nothing they produced will be unwanted.

“We’re more focused than ever on propelling the Unmade business forward during this time of pivotal change in the fashion and retail sectors”

According to UKTN, Unmade, to date, has raised $6.7m. This has been thanks to leaders in the industry like Sian Westerman, president of Business and Investment Pillars of the British Fashion Council; José Neves, founder and CEO of Farfetch; and Christopher Suarez, co-founder and previous CEO of Nicholas Kirkwood amongst others.
