H&M Announces ‘First Ever’ Retail Tech Innovation at Fashion Tech Talks

From H&M Home Voice to a unique creation of high definition human holograms in Augmented Reality, the retail giant gave a rare sneak peek behind the scenes of its latest innovation from their IT Lab.

Today, at Fashion Tech Talks in Stockholm, Sweden, H&M showcased new cutting-edge technology features like the H&M Home voice stylist, an app developed by the H&M Group in collaboration with Google.

Available in selected markets – H&M Home voice stylist is currently one of the first voice applications ever to be released within the fashion- and interior segment. On a sit down with FashNerd.com, Elin Frendberg, H&M group Business Development shared; “At H&M group we constantly work on innovations that create extraordinary customer experiences. The fashion industry is changing fast, and technology is more important than ever as an enabler in adapting to an ever-changing society.”

Besides Voice, the H&M group is also developing an H&M Home Stylist; which is a voice application from Google Assistant. It has been designed to provide personal styling suggestions, mood boards and inspiration for every room in the home. You can not only access the stylist chosen you can also make your experience more personal with an exclusive human voice. The H&M Home Stylist will be tested and developed with input from our customers.

Also announced, in the last segment of the conference was the news that Monki and HoloMe have partnered up to introduce an avant-garde test of high-definition human holograms in Augmented Reality. Accessible through a smartphone or tablet, users will have minimal data usage, turnaround time, and processing power. When selected Monki outfits are selected, they can be enhanced with digital effects, which allows the viewer to monitor the garments in great details and experience the holograms as being present in the room. On the innovation, Frendberg said, “The two cases we are announcing and testing are illustrations of cutting-edge technology in our field. We are excited and proud to soon release our first voice stylist for H&M Home and to be able to explore a world with a unique Hologram/Augmented Reality experience for the Monki customer.”
