Easily one of the key events on the fashion tech calendar, this year, #FashionTech Berlin plans to continue its focus on retail tech (both online and offline), digital marketing and communications. Founded in January 2015, the bi-annual event promises to also cover everything to do with innovation and digitalisation in the fashion industry.
For those unfamiliar with the event, #FASHIONTECH Berlin, organized by the PREMIUM GROUP, #FASHIONTECH Berlin 2017 has evolved to become one of the most influential fashion tech events in Europe. Running alongside Berlin Fashion Week, it continues to strengthen its reputation for being quite topical in their combination of fashion design and technology. This year, 2018 brings change to #FashionTech Berlin as PREMIUM GROUP brings Messe Frankfurt on board as a partner and Messe Frankfurt, in turn, introduces the new FashionSustain event to the schedule. Milena Blasi of #FashionTech Berlin told FashNerd.com that the new partnership will be combined with expanded content and overall concept to come up with solutions to issues affecting the whole of the fashion industry and accompany the industry’s digital transformation.
“2018 brings change to #FashionTech Berlin as PREMIUM GROUP brings Messe Frankfurt on board as a partner”
Having taken to the stage at #FashionTech Berlin in 2016, I do appreciate how their format gives global players, industry insiders, communication experts, start-ups and designers the opportunity to discuss developments, potential opportunities and new approaches within the industry. Cementing it’s status as the go-to event for the future of fashion, #FashionTech Berlin’s range of fashion topics includes innovations, technology, digitalisation, design and sustainability.
If you going to be attending make sure you pencil in keynotes by Ahmet Mercan (Head of Global Consumer Products, Red Bull and General Manager, Alphatauri) who will be talking about how the demand for fashion technology and function is challenging the fashion industry. Also add Brock Cardiner, Editorial Director of Highsnobiety whose talk is about innovative fabrics and how they are shaping the fashion landscape. Lastly, we cannot wait to hear Fabian Vogelstella of Lukso delivering a keynote on how Blockchain and smart contracts will change the fashion industry.
