Two pioneering startup brands have got together to bring their concept of skin-caring athleisure to the mainstream. Hoping to raise 15,000€ through Kickstarter, the womenpreneurs behind Pyrates and Yellow Collar Jersey (YCJ) are excited about their new collection made out of smart fabrics that protect and nurture the wearer’s skin and body.

Changing the Way, We Interact with Smart Fabrics

We have previously written about Pyrates, the brand behind Pyratex. They are a fashion startup revolutionising everyday clothing through their intelligent fabrics. The young company’s innovative product brags active fibres embedded in the materials that make the properties wash and iron resistant. “The properties do not come from micro-encapsulation nor a treatment on a regular fabric,” explained founder Regina Polanco.

Besides nurturing their label, 2017 has been the year that Pyrates have been joining forces with other brands and designers to bring change to the textile industry. Their latest partner is YCJ, a fashion label founded by Polish designer Zofia Zin. Continuously looking for solutions for the future of sportswear, Zofia is all about versatile, stylish and comfortable limited-edition active lifestyle clothes defined by game-changing materials.

Targeting adventurous and entrepreneurial minds, that are active and energetic in spirit, the Pyratex x YCJ collab sounds like a worthy investment. With prices starting from 60€,  the collection, designed for both men and women, is made from 2 different fabrics, each caring the skin in its own particular way. If you are still not convinced, then I think that Marie Liétard-Montigny, Business Development and PR Manager of Pyrates put it best when she said, “No one has ever said, I regret taking care of my skin.” Pledge here.
