It might not be the sharpest dressed smartwatch out there, but it does everything it says on the box and that certainly counts for something.

At first glance you do not look like a good-looking piece of wrist candy, but you do seem to be a good on paper timepiece. Bragging contactless payments, on- board music, smart notifications, and a variety of popular apps and clock faces, there is no denying it, you, Fitbit, are certainly attempting to keep up with Jones, so how can we not take time to get to know you.

Fitbit Ionic, Personal Training Smartwatch

Announced today, 28th August 2017, the 10 year old wearable brand has built its name on being the go to fitness tracker for health and fitness. This time round their expertise has brought to our attention a new relative SpO2 sensor, that makes it possible to track deeper health insights like sleep apnea in the future, industry-leading GPS tracking, on-device dynamic workouts, improved heart rate tracking, and water resistance up to 50 meters. Other Ionic core features include 4+ day battery life, automatic activity and sleep tracking, and cross-platform compatibility.

Following a long line of other Fitbit products, Ionic is all about redefining how we learn about and manage our health. Introducing us to new sensor technology, it is Fitbit’s relative SpO2 sensor for estimating blood oxygen levels that opens the potential for tracking important new indicators about our health, such as sleep apnea. This is a smartwatch designed to deliver more personalized insights and guidance that could help drive meaningful behavior change.

Wearables

Designed to utilize nano-molding technology, the unibody watchcase allows Ionic to double as the Bluetooth and GPS antenna. This construction creates a stronger GPS signal that works in busy cities or on remote trails. Created with durable new materials, the smart watch has an easy to read display and a colour, spherical glass touchscreen with graphics and amplified brightness of up to 1,000 nits.

With everything you need, in one device, the only thing left to do is to style it with some trendy must have pieces. The trends we have embraced, are ones that will take us from summer to autumn with ease. Available for pre-sale on fitbit.com, you will be physically able to own one as of October 2017. The new Fitbit Ionic adidas special edition device will be available 2018. The Fitbit app software development kit (SDK) will be open to developers in September 2017. Price $299.99. The hand-crafted and perforated Horween leather accessories in cognac and midnight blue  are $59.95, and the classic and two-toned accessories are $29.95.
