High Street Brand Zara Invests in Technology To Improve Customer Experience

Technology sprinkled stores is something normally associated with luxury brands, no more, as high street brand takes a leap into retail tech.

We mentioned, not so long ago, that high street store Zara was joining the retail tech revolution. Well, it is really happening!

Such a move by a brand was something usually associated with luxury brands like Burberry. It seems that finally the penny has dropped. High street stores are now playing catch up to luxury labels. We predict that it will not be long before the majority of shops, like H&M who, according to Drapers, are trialling a ‘scan and buy’ feature through its mobile app so as to “seamlessly knit together” online and offline shopping.

Going all futuristic, the Spanish store will be test driving high tech innovations that include LCD screens used as in-store displays. They will also be introducing touch screens in the dressing rooms, which means that you will be able to request a different size without leaving the comfort of your fitting room.

With so much going on, the tech that will make the most sense to die hard Zara fans like myself would be the introduction of the self checkout stations. We all detest those long queues at Zara, now we can check ourselves out. Already available in some of the brands Spanish stores, we cannot wait for this great perk to make its way to London. We will be sure to keep you updated on when these changes are likely to take place.
