Have you heard? Huawei have teamed up with Dr. Sabine Seymour in a collaboration that will reveal how the integration of technology will transform our wardrobe in the not too distant future. Seymour’s vision of the future of fashion with technology aligns perfectly with Huawei’s point of view on wearables.

On the new partnership Huawei Consumer Business Group stated; “Today (7th September 2015), consumers are rarely content with just staying connected; they are looking for a premium watch with a classic design, which is also technologically innovative. At Huawei, we are always looking forward, working ahead to the latest in not only technology, but design.”

So with the future of wardrobe in the hands of technology, Fashion Futurologist and Professor of Fashion and Technology Sabine Seymour predicts that the transformation of FashionTech will begin with our under garments. They will have built in sensors to track personal data, such as heart rate and body temperature. This will then be followed by the next development, which would be the seamless integration of  technology into our clothing.

Seymour believes that intuitive garments is were the future of fashion is headed. Can you imagine garments that can be altered in form and also extended and contracted in length?  I mean how great would it be to be able to change the shape and design of our outfit as we see fit? Here at FashNerd HQ, we know that we would not only love to be able to download the latest designs but to also have the power to change the pattern, colour and even the shape and style. Owning such an intuitive garment will know what we need, like for example if we are hot, our summer dress will adjust to our body temperature, (sigh) to own a useful and fashionable garment certainly gets a BIG thumbs up from us.

Seymour’s vision of the future of fashion is also all about the new functional aesthetic, a garment that is gesture and touch-sensitive. This will be a garment that will embody not only a great sense of style but it will also be a true design aesthetic. We love the idea of our garments fitting into other elements of our life, such as having the ability to connect to our car, just so it can assist in adjusting the seat according to ourpersonal preferences.

In the future, fashion and technology will embrace and integrated technology within our clothing will revolutionise our wardrobes. (Graphic: Business Wire)
