Have you discovered NailO yet? the brainchild of MIT developers.
NailO comes in the shape of a small nail sticker designed to control an external device with a subtle swipe. To put it simply, the device converts your digit to a full blown trackpad.
Inspired by decorative nail stickers, NailO consists of multi-layered miniaturized hardware that wirelessly transmit data via Bluetooth to a mobile device or PC. Although not a Kickstarter project (yet) we think that it is only a matter of time before we will be clicking on the FUND IT button. How can we not support a device that we can swipe, scroll and zoom around our devices, stylishly convenient.
The developer’s paper on the the unobtrusive device that describes how the system works has already earned a “Best of CHI” honorable mention. Lead author Cindy Hsin-Liu Kao, explains “when I put this on, it becomes part of my body.” Now the research team plans to present its work at the upcoming CHI 2015, a conference on human-computer interaction in Seoul.
With a guaranteed 2 hours battery life, NailO is all about its detachable surface membrane that you can swap out to match your outfits, which in our books makes it fashionably convenient.
