We live in a world that promises and continues to deliver advanced technology progression, so it comes as no surprise (well, maybe a little surprise) that there is a cool little number that will drive many 14+ year olds wild.
Recently introduced in France, the Renault Twizy 45 has set its sights on puberty suffering youngsters. Wowser, I hear you say! Well its true. Luckily, before they are seen zooming past their elders on the road, the French teenagers have to first pass a road safety certificate. Once they have jumped that hurdle they can then truly indulge in something that I dreamt about when I was a teen, vroom vroom vrooming in my own car.
The yet to be priced Twizy 45 comes under the light motorized quadricycles category and is considered by Renault to be the safer and more comfortable scooter alternative. The Twizy 45 brags an airbag, double seatbelts, disc brakes, and a protective cell.
The small car, which has a 5hp and a top speed of 28mph, only measures 2.34-meters long x 1.24-metres wide. The only downfall, besides the size, is that the battery pack needs 3.5 hours to charge fully. When at full charge, the vehicle will drive about 60 miles per charge
With the driver and passenger sitting in a tandem arrangement I wonder, although it is a car aimed at teens, I have feeling that the Renault Twizy 45 will most likely be mainly driven by petite-car-loving adults. Well I would drive it, I think it is fashionable enough to somehow work, which leaves me wondering, does this make me 14 years old in spirit? Because that would be very Tom-Hanks-Big!
