Kick off Coachella Style With Trendy Tech

Kicking off the festival season, half a million people are expected to attend the event over the next two weekends.

As the trendsetters, fashionistas, divas, divos, muscians and groupies head to the desert this week for Coachella, we could not help but throw some stylish tech into the trendy mix- just to keep things interesting!

Kicking off the festival season, half a million people are expected to attend the event over the next two weekends. Coachella has become famous for being more about who wears what than the music. It is this kind of fame that has lured 6 figures out of the likes of H&M and other fashion brands looking to capitalise on Coachella’s media and consumer reach.

Unfortunately not many (if any) tech brands have million-dollar budgets to woo support from the likes of Coachella, so it is up to fashion tech blogs to show consumers that start ups have a come a long way from “no one would wear that!” to “is that really tech?”. In my opinion, tech fashion brands are making a fashion statement that needs to be heard.

With more to choose from this year we have selected tech and sustainable fashion brands like Electric Tees, FitBit, Unmade, Joes Jeans, Jawbone, Gemio, Vinaya, Chromat and Shiftwear– that brag a look that will fit right in with the Coachella style. What do you think?

COACHELLA

Electric Tees- From £35.00 | Fitbit Blaze– From £159.00 | The Unmade– From £200.00 | Joe’s Jeans– From £70.00 | Jawbone UP– From £99.00 | Gemio– From £TBC | Chromat– From £Varied | ShiftWear– £Pre-Order | Vinaya House– From £200

With your tech style all set, here are 7 Acts, which according to Frontiers, you don’t want to miss, and we couldn’t agree more!

LCD Soundsystem
Retirement doesn’t count for much in the music industry, so here comes the best dance act left of Daft Punk to get you to shake your tailfeather, crunk your rump, whatever. And they already have the Coachella-nation anthem in their back pocket: “Drunk Girls.”

The 1975
These U.K. pop rock upstarts are on the upswing—lots of funk and guitars and beats and whathaveyou—so here’s your chance to say, “I saw them before they were huge.”

Foals
Rock in 2016 doesn’t come any more passionate or forward-thinking than these Oxford musicians. Frontman Yannis Phillipakis is the consummate showman, and his band is a well-honed machine that’s been touring a victory lap for their awesome fourth release, What Went Down.

Kamasi Washington
Friend of Kendrick Lamar and all-around jazz Renaissance man Washington brings his future-jazz chops to the polo field. How that translates to an EDM-leaning crowd remains to be seen, but one thing is for certain: this is not dinner-time mellow jazz. Prepare to be transported.

Chvrches
These Scottish electro popstars will appeal to the indie kids and old New Wavers alike, and diminutive vocalist Lauren Mayberry is the new La Roux—if not the new Blondie. Second album Every Open Eyecame out last year, and sing-alongs are guaranteed.

Grimes
She made fans out of even more gays with the release of fourth album Art Angels last November. Now if only we could figure out how to describe her…

Guns N’ Roses
These guys get an honorable mention. Or do I mean dishonorable? Regardless, this could be a bracing triumph for L.A. glam-metal or an unmitigated reunion disaster. Either way, they’ll entertain you.
