Here’s Kanega, a smart watch that won’t make you feel like you have a problem that you weren’t aware of in the first place. The Kanega waterproof Watch has been designed with seniors in mind to extend their independence. It is supposed to assist in many different ways. For example the “Guide me home” assistance and several other location based support. Then there is the meds adherence, automatically bringing medication updates into the watch.

Also the the device can come to aid when the wearer has fallen and is in need of support. CEO Jean Anne Booth, also a founder at Intrinsity, which was sold to Apple in April 2010, has chosen the path of Kickstarter where they have 8 days of campaigning left. Yet, they have just reached their $100k goal. The prototype of the watch, as different stages of the model are presented here, is presented at SXSW’s Health and MedTech Expo.
